Production
Production classes incorporate all forms of dance therefore students enrolled in production class must also be enrolled in classes of at least 2 other dance forms in addition to ballet. Production is a very large group number incorporating all styles of dance, and usually has a familiar theme to it. Senior production is by invitation only.
Pre-Dance
Pre-Dance is a program designed to provide children with a strong foundation in dance and movement. It teaches them the basic elements of music, dance, space, and how we relate to it, as an individual and in groups. Basic large motor skills development, musical rhythm, opposites and directions, and elementary dance steps are all incorporated in this program. Integrated with these physical concepts are intellectual concepts of self awareness, creative expression, imagination, and teamwork. Pre-Dance is a 1 hour combo class, 30 minutes ballet, 30 minutes tap. A 30 minute jazz class can be added at ages 6 & up.
Musical Theater
Musical Theater slasses encourage students to play act and work on their ability to be more animated. Exercises focus on strengthening performance skills with feelings, and lip sync, and to help create the ability to communicate an emotion or feeling. This also includes learning to portray a character in a particular piece of music or performance.
Acrobatics
Basically the floor work of gymnastics, classes are geared to specific ages and levels. Students will study and train in all forms of tumbling, and will work on flexibility, endurance, and strength. Students work on the basic skills such as forward rolls and cartwheels and progress to highly skilled acro tricks such as back handsprings and tucks, according to each individual’s strength and ability
Ballet
Ballet is the foundation for all forms of dance. It is in ballet class that you develop your technique for all other forms of dance. Classes work toward a stronger technique with correct body placement, focusing on musicality, flexibility, coordination, and performance skills. Classes consist of barre, center, adagio & across the floor work. Children will gain strength and flexibility along with balance, coordination and grace. A strong emphasis is also placed on correct usage of ballet terminology.
