5. NO one is permitted backstage except recital volunteers and students. 1 parent per student may enter through the dancers doors to bring child to their backstage room. There is no access to auditorium from there.
Auditorium entrance is through main doors at front of the school. Dancers must stay
backstage during the performance. When the recital is over and the dancers are back in their
rooms, you may go backstage to pick up your child. Class moms have been instructed not to
let any child leave unless a parent or guardian comes to pick them up. Our policies are
designed with your childs best interest in mind. We thank you in advance for following
them.
6. Parents may not go back stage during the performance.
7. Audience etiquette.... do not leave your seat while a group is performing. If you must get up during the
recital before intermission, please wait until the dance on stage is finished. Help make the dancers feel good
about what they are doing...it is OK to clap for a group during their dance, not just at the end. Be
generous with your applause during a dance number. Dancers be more at ease and they WILL smile more.
These are your precious children, let them know you can see how hard theyve worked all year.
8. Matinee dancers are not permitted to leave on their own. A parent must pick up their dancer after the recital
in their backstage room. We will not permit any dancer to leave on their own.
9. NO FLASH CAMERAS are permitted at the recital.
10. NO FOOD or DRINK of any kind is permitted in the auditorium. This is a Norwich High School building
policy. If food or drinks are brought into the auditorium, it will be removed.

14. Please make sure your child has all of his/her shoes, costumes, costume pieces and items needed for
the recital, before you leave to come to the school.
15. No students are permitted in the audience. TV monitors are in the rooms for them to watch the recital.
16. A dance recital performance is a fun and wonderful experience for your child. We have developed our
